Today you all worked in the lab on your stream tables and tried multiple scenarios.
Using different landforms (mountains, plateaus, valleys, plains, etc...) you saw tiny example of big processes that happen everyday all around the world.
In a comment please describe one specific example of how you saw weathering, erosion, or deposition during your tests.

I saw weathering when we did the dam test. When the water was poured into the river, the water destroyed the dam and took the parts of the dam with it into the "ocean" (container). KCC #2
ReplyDeletei did a mountain and when i poured flood and the mountain collapsed. when i used the bolder it would move the sand.the water would flow out of the bucket then landed in another bucket
ReplyDeleteI think you meant i saw weathering when i poured flood water and the mountain collapsed .
DeleteP.S It is me FL
I saw erosion when we did the big mountain test. When the water poured into the mountain's hole on top.The water put pressure on the sand which caused the sand to flow with the water.HM#14
ReplyDeletei saw lots of of erosion when we did the moutain cause the the walls collaped and the water overfloed and carried the sand particles all around the bucket. R.M.H. #10
ReplyDeleteevery time when we poured the water every time i saw the sand move when we put the flood cup against the dam the water went around it and when we built a hill it had collapsed.#16
ReplyDeletei saw weathering when the dam broke because the water had pused the dam down.the water over flooded a lot and broke the dams and the walls. RRM #13
ReplyDeleteI saw erosion and weathering in the waterfall example (we built up on one of the sides and poured the water down) because when we poured the water, the part where we poured the water collapsed and got carried away by the water. I also saw deposition when the sand got carried to the edges of the tray and just sat there.
ReplyDeleteI saw deposition when we poured the water and the water carried some of the sand along with it after it broke the dam we built.
ReplyDeleteI saw weathering when the water pushed down the sand.In real life if it was a mountain there would be a small rain then parts of the mountain such as soil ,minerals ,sand, and rock would flow down.If it was there was a flood big parts of the mountain could even break down like what we saw in the scenario when we poured flood water down the mountain.
ReplyDeleteI saw erosion when the parts of the mountain flowed down by the force of the water and then met with the water ,which had overflowed. They stated running down together and formed what i called a very dirty delta! In one scenario we made a steam .Next we poured down water but the steam overflowed because there was too much erosion caused by the water and then the stream gradually disappeared by the sudden amount of water .so in real life when there is too much water streams can overflow which can be very dangerous .
I saw deposition when the remains of the sand and filthy water flowed into the bucket ,which was the ocean. This showed deposition because the remains of the sand and water were small at first but they slowly by slowly grew bigger and bigger until they created things that looked like landmasses,This is like the deposition that occurs in real life .

ReplyDeleteI saw weathering when the water started the water started to move the dam then broke it
ReplyDeletei saw wethering when my group poured the water on to the sand and the water pushed the sand down which may or may not have broken the sand down even more.
ReplyDeletei saw erosion when the water was going down the stream we made and i could see some tiny sand grains going down the stream to the end where some of the water goes when you try to get it out.
i saw deposition when the water caried away some sand grains from one end of the sream to the other end.
I saw weathering erosion and deposition when my group and I used the flood cup and it demolished everything, so that was weathering. I saw erosion when all of it was being carried away. Finally! Then I saw deposition when it all landed in the tub.

I saw erosion when we made a curved river and the water was sloshed against the edges of the river and slowly broken off of the rest of the sand and drained out to the rest ofthe sand broken down when the water hit the sand and broke the dam. EMS #18
ReplyDeleteI saw weathering, erosion, and deposition. The water always weathered the sand.
ReplyDeleteThe water carried away the eroded sand and deposited the sand into the ocean. Also the model showed how deadly floods are.
Floods destroyed dams and carried houses away. The flood hurts the environment and the man made world.
And the flood destructed many natural land forms such as mountains, canyons, or other land forms.
The standard never did much damage. Always be careful where you live.
I saw weathering, erosion, and deposition when the water moved and broke down the sand, and then whent down the strem to a diffrent place.
ReplyDeleteIsaw erosion..... (example)
ReplyDeletei saw weathering eroision and deposition because sand was breaking down and the water came down the hole
